A Significant Economic Impact on our Region
Horry County will gain more than needed health care services at Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital. The rapidly growing county will benefit from an economic boost, as well.
The 36-bed hospital, planned for the interchange of Highway 31 and S.C. 707, is expected to employ 140 professionals at opening and will represent a $77 million investment in the community.
“As Tidelands Health continues to grow along with our region’s population, the area not only benefits from the additional health care services but also from the jobs and economic activity new locations offer,” says Gayle Resetar, chief operating officer. “At opening, Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital will provide an immediate boost to our region’s economy.”
Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital will offer an emergency department, medical, surgical and critical care, four operating suites, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services and more. The hospital has been approved by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. No opening date has been set.
With more than 2,500 team members, Tidelands Health is already one of the area’s largest employers. The largest health care provider in the region, the not-for-profit health system is locally owned and operated with four hospitals and more than 70 care locations along the Grand Strand.
“We call this area home, so it’s important that we continue to invest in our community,” Resetar says.
