Convenient Care Close to Home
Living in a sprawling, fast-growing area like Horry County, the less time you spend fighting traffic driving to your destination, the better.
When you need health care, convenience and accessibility are even more important.
Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital is designed to meet that need for convenient, high-quality medical care in south Horry County using an innovative care model.
The Model
Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital won’t look like your typical hospital. With 36 beds at opening, it is sized and designed to support the care needs of south Horry County.
The hospital will embed emergency and inpatient services within the local community so residents won’t have to travel far to seek the care they need.
This innovative concept of neighborhood care is becoming more common across the country as a way to enhance access and promote the availability of health care resources.
Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital will offer an emergency department, medical, surgical and critical care, four operating suites, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services and more.
“Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital is a perfect example of the innovative neighborhood care concept,” says Gayle Resetar, chief operating officer at Tidelands Health. “The hospital will be sized to meet the needs of the community and designed to offer the high-quality services you expect – including an emergency department, operating suites and more – while providing convenience and easy accessibility for residents of south Horry County.”
Tidelands Health also used the neighborhood care concept when designing Tidelands Health Medical Park at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach, which opened in 2019. Like south Horry County, The Market Common area has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, with residents looking for health care services close to home.
The Location
With its rapid growth, south Horry County stood out as an area with an immediate need for a hospital.
And when you look at the best spot to serve that booming area, the interchange of Highway 31 and S.C. 707 is a natural fit.
The extension of Highway 31, also known as Carolina Bays Parkway, and the widening of S.C. 707 provide a recently updated road system for residents to access Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital.
“Whether you live in Socastee, Burgess or any area south of U.S. 501, Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital will be right around the corner ready to serve you,” Resetar says.
