The Tidelands Health MUSC Family Medicine Residency Center

Tidelands Family Medicine at Holmestown RoadThe Tidelands Health board of trustees committed $11 million to a brand new, state-of-the-art family medicine education and clinical center just for the residency program located 10 minutes from Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.

The building is custom designed with the specific needs of the family medicine residency program, and that of the family medicine residents, in mind.

Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital delivers high-quality health care to the people of Georgetown, Horry and surrounding counties. Tidelands Waccamaw also holds Joint Commission certifications in childbirth and joint replacement and is an advanced primary stroke center.

Tidelands Waccamaw offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including 24-hour emergency care, critical care and general medical and surgical services. Tidelands Waccamaw Rehabilitation Hospital, the region's only inpatient rehabilitation hospital, is located inside Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.

An integral part of the Medical University of South Carolina, MUSC Children's Health is dedicated to enhancing the health of children throughout South Carolina, and to providing an environment that supports excellence in pediatric patient care, teaching and research. Our employees believe that children have special needs for everything from their medicines and the size of their beds to special care that only specially trained pediatric professionals can provide.

We pride ourselves in our dedication to provide a broad educational experience in all aspects of pediatric medicine through the MUSC Department of Pediatrics. Our commitment to research leads to discoveries that will make a difference in the lives of children and generations to come. By doing what we do best, MUSC Children's Hospital hopes to help kids do what they do best - be kids without a care in the world. 

Tidelands Community Care Network

The TCCN care center.Tidelands Community Care Network is a regional collaborative comprised of faith communities, human service providers, health educators, state agencies and primary care and specialty care providers. In partnership with Access Health South Carolina and The Duke Endowment, Tidelands Community Care Network was created to help uninsured adults ages 19 to 64 access timely medical care.

Thanks to Tidelands Community Care Network, more adults in the Tidelands region are receiving timely preventive, diagnostic and procedural care than ever before.

NHC HealthCare 

NHC HealthCare, Garden City, is a 148 bed skilled nursing center providing a wide array of therapeutic and rehabilitative services. Each patient is evaluated by a team of health care professionals who design a program tailored to meet the individual's specific needs. This comprehensive plan results in optimum health benefits for the individual. 

How to Apply

Applications are coordinated through the Electronic Residency Application Service, or ERAS. Students may begin the ERAS application in July, and our residency will begin receiving completed applications on Sept. 1 each year. More information and applications may be found on the ERAS website.
