Tidelands Health Transitional Year Residency Program

Now accepting applications for our inaugural 2025 cohort.

The Tidelands Health MUSC Transitional Year Residency Program offers an exceptional residency training experience while enjoying the beach lifestyle offered by the South Carolina coast. The program accepts six residents each year and will prepare you with the general training for future success in multiple medical specialties.

Our nationally recognized GME culture provides quality clinical and didactic education with high-volume experiences in both inpatient and outpatient medicine. During your training, you will hone your medical skills across multiple clinical settings with a variety of patient populations.  As you learn, you will have all the resources of an academic center within a vibrant coastal community.

Built into our curriculum is comprehensive training in leadership skills that can help you become a transformational health care leader. We also have emphasis work-life balance and wellness-- so you can take care of yourself as you take care of others.

Where We Are

The Tidelands Health MUSC Transitional Year program is offered primarily in the Tidelands Health service area. Tidelands Health is located on the Atlantic coast and serves residents in Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties - from Georgetown, South Carolina, to the popular travel destination of Myrtle Beach. Our sun, fun, water and white sandy beaches attract nearly 20 million visitors each year.
