Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital among nation’s top performers for treatment of heart attack patients

Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital has earned national recognition for its high-quality cardiovascular care.

Tidelands Georgetown is one of only 86 hospitals nationwide to earn the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry Chest Pain – MI Registry Silver Performance Achievement Award for 2019.

The award recognizes Tidelands Georgetown’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and for providing care that meets the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.

Tidelands Georgetown earned the award after demonstrated, sustained achievement in the Chest Pain-MI Registry for four consecutive quarters and for achieving the top level of standards for specific performance measures.

The Chest Pain-MI Registry establishes a national standard for understanding and improving the quality, safety and outcomes of care provided for patients with coronary artery disease, specifically high-risk heart attack patients.
