Registration now open for Tidelands Health In the Pink breast cancer awareness walk
Registration opens today for the Tidelands Health In the Pink breast cancer awareness walk, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at an all-new location -- beautiful Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet.
The signature event, now in its 19th year, brings the community together to celebrate breast cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease and raise money to support breast care.
Thanks to the long-time partnership between Tidelands Health and Brookgreen Gardens, this year’s In the Pink walkers will take in the sights and sounds of the internationally recognized gardens while completing the one-mile walk.
“For nearly two decades, our community has come together at the In the Pink breast cancer awareness walk to support those facing breast cancer,” said Dr. Craig Brackett, a board-certified breast surgeon and medical director of the Tidelands Health breast health program. “We are immensely grateful to our walkers and sponsors who give so generously. Everyone who takes part in this uplifting day brings to life this year’s theme – ‘No one walks alone.’ ”
To take part in the 2024 In the Pink walk, register at tidelandshealth.org. Gates will open at 8 a.m., and the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and complimentary admission to Brookgreen Gardens for the day. Walk participants are encouraged to don their best pink outfits and accessories to show their support during the event.
“With every step, walkers help patients in our region access mammograms and other vital breast care services,” said Dr. Angela Mislowsky, a board-certified breast surgeon at Tidelands Health Breast Center. “We are incredibly grateful to our community for embracing In the Pink every year, and we look forward to walking with you Oct. 19.”
