Tidelands Health Cardiology honored for two decades of nuclear medicine accreditation
Tidelands Health Cardiology has earned national recognition for its continued commitment to safety and quality by achieving continuous accreditation in nuclear medicine for the past two decades.
The practice received bronze milestone recognition from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, or IAC, for its 20-year record of earning IAC Nuclear/PET – or positron emission tomography --accreditation. Nuclear medicine is a valuable tool for evaluating and managing patient care by helping diagnose various types of diseases and heart conditions.
To earn accreditation, Tidelands Health Cardiology underwent an intense and rigorous assessment process of its critical operational and technical components including case studies. It maintained accreditation through additional thorough reviews every three years.
“Accreditation is one of the many steps we take to stay on top of the latest guidelines and best practices in the delivery of care to our patients,” said Dr. Jacqueline Sennott, a board-certified cardiologist at Tidelands Health. “Earning bronze milestone recognition from IAC for our continuous and long-standing accreditation is a testament to the dedication of our cardiology team and a sign to our patients that they receive care here that meets high standards.”
Nuclear medicine is one aspect of the advanced care provided at Tidelands Health Cardiology, which also offers the latest in echocardiography and exercise stress tests in diagnosing and developing a care plan for patients.
“We are proud to recognize long-time accredited nuclear cardiology, nuclear medicine and PET facilities through the milestone recognition program,” said Mary Lally, CEO of the IAC. “The recognized facilities are true champions of accreditation. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care using accreditation as a quality metric.”
